Hey!! I know school is now back in session and vacations are behind us now, so how about taking a few minutes and review the booklet on the family and check for ERRORS. I would like to make the corrections now while its fresh on everyone's mind. I've had only one person to notify me of corrections on her family.. Thanks again, Sonny

I hope it not too late to let all know how much Sonny & I enjoyed the reunion. First of all, a GREAT BIG THANKS to all that worked so hard making it all come together. It was so good to get the first cousins together again and to meet all the next generations. My prayer is that all of you will never forget all of us OLD cousins and remember their beginnings. Maw maw and Paw Paw Smith did not have any idea what they were starting with all those children they had. Hallelujah for them. I know that those who have gone on ahead of us were looking down and having just as much fun as we were. Looking forward to the next get together. Love you all, June

Hey all of the Family,
I have never laughed so much during this wonderful time we had @ the Reunion. It was so much fun and so much love shared. I also want to thank all who had a big part as well as a small part getting this great gathering organized!! It has been too long to enjoy the wonderful family that we all should be so proud of. All of us connected in different ways but we did connect. I may not been able to talk one on one with all but I will in emails and by phone. You are all important to me and I know Paw and Grandmama as well as the other important "Loved Ones" that have passed on are so Happy with this family. Lets keep the communication flowing and again we are all in it together. We are all so Blessed! Love to all, Dana

The big event is over but certainly not forgotten. First of all I want to say THANKS to all those realtives who came to help make this event very special, and to say THANKS to those that worked so hard to put it all together. What a wonderful time I had, it was so much fun to see and talk to people that I have never known but had heard of and to talk to those that I have not seen for a long time. Getting to be with all my first cousins brought back such great memories and I hope that this is just the start.

What a weekend to look forward to -- seeing "old cousins" -- meeting lots of "new cousins". Those of us who are closer to the "Family Tree" -- Maw Maw and Paw Paw Smith -- are well up in years. Joy, it is almost unbelievable you celebrated your 80th birthday. I didn't remember you being 7 years older than me -- but that is life I guess. For those of you who don't know me (that's almost all of you), I am one of Wade's nephews, and spent much of my childhood in Marianna, AR -- joined the Navy out of high school, and never returned to Marianna except to visit.
My wife, Polly Douglas, and I just celebrated our 50th anniversary. We live in Florissant, MO (suburb of St. Louis). I am retired and Polly still teaches piano in our home.
We have three children - Alice Anne (48), Jon Charles (46) and Mary Ellen [goes by Meg] (43).
Alice married Colyn Davey from South Africa - where they have lived since 1994. Alice teaches at UNISA University in Pretoria, SA. Colyn has a son from his previouos marriage - Christopher - he and his wife live in London, England. Colyn is on his way to Saudi Arabia to teach in a new university.
Jon and his wife Tammy live in Rogers, AR (both graduates from University of Arkansas) -- they have two children - Justin (17) and Jennifer (15).
Meg and her husband Darrell Batchelor live in St. Charles, MO -- they have two children - Sara (16) and Daniel (13).
We are looking forward to seeing and meeting many of you in TN this weekend.

They say "better late than never." Well, I just barely made it before the reunion. My wife, Polly, and I will be there -- been a long time since I have seen Joy. She will probably be the only person I know (escpt my sister, June Hubbard). I have "been gone" from Marianna, AR since july 1952 when I went into the Navy - only been back occasionally. Looking forward to meeting some new "cousins" - WOW! Looks like there will be several of you. Hope it is coller than here in St. Louis this week. See you this weekend.

No one liked a party more than my Mom, Mae Smith Evans, who died in 1991. While I will not be attending the reunion, I know Mom'll be there in spirit and maybe drag my Dad, Dan, along for some fun. I live in Carmel, California and am married to the nicest man in the world, Ross Anderson. We have been together for 16 years.....no children but lots of great kids in our lives (of course, Rick Hopper being the biggest kid). I enjoyed working all of my life until about a year ago.....we have been trying to relocate to the Sierra foothills to a little home Ross and I built several years ago. I'm rather reclusive (just ask Ricky and Joy) but am so happy to see the family reuniting and thank Rick and Doris for all their work in putting it all together (also June and Sonny).
My most significant memory of family as a child visiting Marianna will always be my Grandmother, Milbrey, and Aunt Gladys, Uncle Pete and Uncle Joe (and assorted others of course) but Gladys was like an angel to me somehow and I still think of her often. I hope my sister, Jane, will attend and that you all have a wonderful time sharing memories. And, Joy Smith Hopper Stoker, I love you..........:) dani

Hey all,
To make this easier for me I am no longer using my work email address so I am giving out my personal email address for all to respond and sent me your email address to add to my contacts. As of July 20, I am no longer employed with Ritter Oil Co. I was told my job position was eliminated due to the "Overhead" Expenses but was also informed it was nothing to do with my job performance or anything I have done. So I am jobless but peaceful about it and will share that @ the Reunion or who ever decides to email back.
New email nanajones7@gmail.com
Please let me hear from the ones I have been emailing and even the ones that I haven't. Love ya, Dana

James, my other son is a wonder so no grandchildren there. I'm really looking forward to this reunion. Grandmama was more like a mother to me since mother stayed sick alot and grandmama had to come down and help take care of us. And yes, Paw Paw was bossy. I remember one time grandmama was asleep on the couch and Paw Paw was talking away to her and we told him she was asleep, that didn't stop him, he just kept right on talking to her. Well Guys keep up the good work!

Just want to say hello to everyone. I am the daughter of Fern Smith Bunch. I have been married and divorced twice and haven't attempted to try again. I have one son, Adam, who is 29 yrs. old. He is married to a beautiful girl named Gina for two years. There are no grandchildren as of yet. I live in Knoxville, TN for now but will be returning to Clinton very soon. I work in Oak Ridge scheduling medical screenings for former workers of the Manhattan Project. I was very close to Wade Smith (Paw Paw) as well as my grandmother since we lived next door to each other until their deaths. I spent many many days sitting under a big tree listening to Paw Paw tell the rest of the family how to plant the garden. Needless to say he was a little bossy. Grandmother and Paw Paw were a big part of my life and I miss them both and think about them everyday. I appreciate all the work that is being done in Paw Paw's honor.

My partner David and I have been together almost five years and have a beautiful home located between San Francisco and Napa Valley. I get to see the TN gang quite often since I'm able to make several visits a year to see Mom.
